Value

Value is such a broad topic to talk about that it cannot be explained by only one meaning. To me, value has the strongest meaning when applied to family, and the value that I have for my family. There aren't many things stronger than love, and I think that love for something such as family has the most and strongest value. Apart from love and family there is art. Art is a huge part of my life now, serving me more values than ever.

String Crazy

The drawing activity was definitely a fundamental activity that was necessary for the class to do. To actually sit down and contemplate what lines and shapes make you feel is without doubt a hard activity when you need to look deep within yourself to pull out an idea or emotion that reflects the main subject better than an original idea. It acted as a starting point for the string project, which was awesome!! During the string activity, students went in every which direction pulling the string to create an infinite number of shapes and lines. On a personal level, I approached this activity without thinking too much about it, but rather just playing with different ideas. If i had to participate in this type of activity again, I would totally be into it.

Assignment 1: Art Critique

Description:
-The majority or the focus rather of this piece is taking place in the foreground.
-There seems to be a large brawl of sorts between men, women, children and one lonely soldier. Its as if the men are doing whatever they can to kill the children while the women are risking their lives to save them.
- Very light, with vibrant colors. But at the same time soft with lots of neutral colors taking over much of the frame.

Interpretation:
-The mood is extreme in such brutal violence while at the same time great valor and heroism. It shows that even in the face of annihilation, those who fight for what they love have the power to live on.

Evaluation:
-I think this piece shows amazing imagery and captures the anger and brute force that human beings are capable of releasing upon themselves. This is such an intriguing work of art by what it represents and by the intentions that the artist had. The choice of colors are subtle and not too vibrant which I think makes this piece satisfactory and inviting to the eye.
